"When preparing to travel lay out all your clothes and all your money. Then take half the clothes and twice the money."
Minimum Impact Ideas
Our role as an adventure travel outfit is to ensure that we are giving back more to the people and the environment that you visit with us than what is being taken away in our trips. Preserving cultural heritage and conserving and replenishing the natural environment, while improving the lives of natives, is the essence of our way of travelling and is integrated into every decision and action we take at Wild Escapes.
We've done a few things to take the first steps towards protecting our stunning environment and have some tips for you to help us along the way. We're passionate about Responsible Travel and wish the same for you.
Garbage et al...
- Why Spit or Litter and be unethical?? Instead, put it in a bin, your pockets or your backpack pockets to empty it later in the bin.
- Recycle whatever possible… paper, glass, plastic, cans, etc.
- Avoid polluting our water, it can kill marine life… and eventually get to us.
Resources...
- Turn taps off while you shave and brush your teeth.
- Turn lights and appliances off when not in use.
- Once your cell phone or camera is fully recharged unplug it. Even when fully charged the charger still uses electricity.
- Re-use your plastic water bottles (saves you money too). Carry water purifiers or purchase purified water locally.
- Wash vegetables in a large bowl together rather than one at a time under running water.
Work Place Initiatives at Wild Escapes...
We take small steps at various levels - here are some examples of what's being done:
- Using old paper for notes instead of new notepads.
- Using electronic communication wherever possible.
- Creating a "paperless society" to reduce demands on paper stocks.
- Using electricity wisely.
We love our World. Please look after it while you are here.
